The X-ray, Raman and TEM Signatures of Cellulose-Derived Carbons Explained

چکیده

Structural properties of carbonized cellulose were explored to conjugate the outcomes from various characterization techniques, namely X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy. All these techniques have evidenced formation graphene stacks with a size distribution. Cellulose at 1000 1800 °C heating rate 2 °C/min showed meaningful differences in whereas XRD, not well pronounced, which implies that crystallite sizes calculated by each technique different significations. In XRD patterns, origin specific feature low scattering angle commonly reported literature but poorly explained so far, was identified. The approaches used this study congruous explaining observations made on cellulose-derived carbon samples. remnants basic structural unit (BSU) are developed during primary carbonization. Small graphene-based crystallites inherited BSUs, formerly carbonization, found coexist larger ones. Even if three give information average graphenic domains, they do see same characteristics domains; hence, identical, nor contradictory complementary. arguments work explain deduced signal obtained relate physics phenomena; quite general and, therefore, valid for all kind materials.

Spontaneous and stimulated X-ray Raman scattering

The present thesis is devoted to theoretical studies of resonant X-ray scattering and propagation of strong X-ray pulses. In the first part of the thesis the nuclear dynamics of different molecules is studied using resonant X-ray Raman and resonant Auger scattering techniques. We show that the shortening of the scattering duration by the detuning results in a purification of the Raman spectra f...

Ordered and Disordered Carbon Structures Detected by TEM in Carbide-derived Carbons Produced from TiC

Nowadays, the selective etching of metal carbides by chlorine gas is one well established method to prepare highly porous and nanostructurated carbon materials with potential applications for hydrogen storage and supercapacitors The obtained products usually named as carbide-derived carbons (CDC) present high purity, high surface area and homogeneous pore size distribution and most of times pre...

Soft X-Ray Signatures of Coronal Ejections

We have a new view of the time behavior of the inner solar corona via the extensive soft X-ray observations of Yohkoh. These show many forms of expansion of coronal material, ranging from highly collimated structures (jets) to large-scale evacuations ("dimmings") of the diffuse corona. We review these effects, emphasizing those probably related to CMEs, and present a preliminary classification ...

X-ray Absorption Spectroscopy and X-ray Raman Scattering of Water and Ice; An Experimental View

Here we present a review of x-ray absorption spectroscopy and x-ray Raman scattering with the perspective to understand the spectra of water including changes with temperature, mass of the water molecule and presence of monovalent ions. The different detection schemes are discussed and it is concluded that transmission x-ray absorption measurements, using a small area where the thickness is uni...
